Beedle’s Boys seem unstoppable as the season draws to a close. The last team to beat them were FPL Daddy back in GW27. They have risen to the top of the Best-ish table, increased their lead at the top of League Two, and are just a point from winning the title. Talk of the treble continues, and the next hurdle is their hardest challenge since FPL Daddy – Sporting Wicker Park, currently ranked #12 overall have been cut off from the Championship promotion race and will be fully-focused on Cup glory.

Nico O’Reilly has been serving both teams over the last four weeks and looks nailed-on to re-appear in the BFFA Cup Semi-Final since his return to full minutes and going into a double gameweek for City. SWP have brought in ex-Boys Harry Maguire and Marcos Senesi ahead of their matchup. Conversely, the Boys just replaced Maguire for James Justin, and also brought in Jaka Bijol for their Monday night game against Spurs. Struijk was also briefly considered before making way for the ever-present James Garner.

Watch out for the two Igors playing up front for Beedle’s Boys. Igor Thiago will be facing Wicker Park’s three Man City midfielders on Saturday evening. Later, those three will also be in line for a call-up to play a second game, at home to Palace on Wednesday night. Also watch out for John McGinn and Ollie Watkins (SWP) against relegated Burnley on Sunday. If both are rested and fit after scoring (and taking a head wound) in the Europa League last night, they will be a real threat to the Treble.

Beyer Neverleusen# 18Prem7th1790½WWLWW_103192 – 205WON2017, 2021
Preliminary Version# 4Champ2nd2003WWWWL_301205 – 192SF*2026*

Beyer Neverleusen are the only remaining Premier League team in the BFFA Cup 2026 and the only remaining former winners (as Bigger than Brolin in 2017 & 2021). While they are close to securing their place in the Premier League next season, their opponents Prelim have already had their PL place confirmed and are also pressing for a league title. Their ambitions to be the Bestish are still alive too, being 4th-placed and entering a double gameweek that could shake things up.

Prelim have four players that could re-appear on Wednesday for the extra fixture – Guehi, Khushanov, Mitchell and Strand Larsen. The Palace pair are both former Neverleusen players. Beyer also have Khusanov and he is coupled with Cherki this DGW. Another player that both share is Iliman Ndiaye (first signed for Beyer in GW21, drafted by Prelim), and so this Semi-Final will be a good test of both sides’ managerial acumen.
