League Set-up
Top tier: Premiership – Bottom three: Relegation.
Second tier: Championship – Top three: Promotion; Bottom three: Relegation.
Third tier: League One – Top three: Promotion; Bottom three: Relegation.
Fourth tier: League Two – Top three: Promotion.
BFFA Champions League
Sixteen teams qualify for the CL by achieving a high placement in the previous season. This is a prestigious, cross-season competition for the right to be declared the Best-of-the-Best. This elite group will include the defending CL champion, the BFFA Cup winner, the top three finishers from each league and the rest of the places are filled by the next-best from the previous season’s final Best-ish ranks.
The first round sorts the teams into four groups of four, playing a home-and-away-esque round-robin. After six games each, the top two in each group go on to the knockout rounds. The final eight go into a knockout bracket – two-legged QF’s & SF’s leading to a pre-Christmas Final.
The BFFA Cup
Starting in January, all forty teams will be entered into a knockout competition. The First Round is contested by the sixteen lowest-scoring teams (as per the Best-ish rankings after the end of the previous gameweek). The winners are joined by the other twenty-four teams in Round Two. The BFFA Cup is a straight knockout, one leg all the way through (except for draws which go to a replay).
Best-ish
The top pointscoring team of the season (after GW38) will win the Best-ish award, AKA: The “Almost as cool as George Best award.”
