🎉🏆 HOUSEWIVES FAVOURITE WIN THE BFFA PREMIER LEAGUE 🏆🎉
😲Eye-Catching Stuff:
• Wives Fave take the title with an 8-point win over bottom side ATC.
• For the second week in a row, De Bruyne Trousers complete a clean sweep and score the most matchpoints in the League, but are unable to overcome Wives’ Faves’ fantasy points advantage.
• Hung Like A Bony decimate El Dude Bros and Mighty Fine outplayed by Gloopy Yarbles, resulting in Hung LAB returning to third just in time for the final reckoning.
🙅 Whitewash Watch 🔎 Completed:
De Bruyne Trousers 5-0 vs. Beyer Neverleusen

🏁 The Finish Line 🏁
Final Day drama at its best! The top two level on 25 wins apiece going in to the final game. Housewives Fave had a healthy matchpoints advantage, meaning that a win would give them the silverware regardless of the outcome of DBT’s game. Housewives Favourite turned up on Sunday to face the team in tenth, not necessarily a walkover as they had been beaten by ATC earlier in the season, and De Bruyne Trousers were against Beyer Neverleusen, who had ironically lost every game to DBT.
Housewives Favourite had signed Zian Flemming (ex-Gloopy & Hung midfielder) and Valentin Castellanos in time for GW37 (albeit Castellanos had also appeared for Wives Fave earlier in the season). The pair appearing in their respective claret & blues both scored in the final games of their doomed seasons, but can hold their heads up high as those goals sealed a second Premier League title for the Favourites.
De Bruyne Trousers, who won multi-format titles last season, knew that a Wives Fave victory would put the title out of their reach (unless they could outscore the league leaders by 60-odd points), but also that they needed a draw or a win in case Fave had a rare off-day. Thus, they prepared by injecting new life into their already in-form team – seven new signings were brought into their squad including Callum Wilson (scored) and Brobbey (assisted). They also took a gamble on a Spurs clean sheet with Kinsky (6) and Porro (11½) successful in the back. Nine of the DBT starting eleven scored 5 FPts or more (Apart from Munoz (2) and Kadioglu (-1)), and DBT once again recorded the league’s high score for the week. Unfortunately for them, as we know, Wives Fave had done plenty to fend off the challenge.
Hung Like A Bony, who were in the top three for 32 gameweeks (#1 for 13 of those), dipped out of the prize places in the penultimate week, but immediately returned to Third thanks to a very good week for Gloopy Yarbles and a very bad week for the El Dude Bros. In a goalless game against El DB, Amad Diallo shone brightest with double figures for his assist and two shots-on-target. There were six other shots-on-target for Hung, while their opponents offered nothing in return.
The extra two gameweeks, unfavoured by some, did give Mighty Fine another shot at reclaiming Third. They took that chance in GW37, but the extra fixtures are a lottery. Whilst Hung LAB were given a team that struggled to muster 20 points to finish with, fate put Mighty Fine up against a Gloopy side that had already beaten them thrice this season, and did so once again with another over-60 score. (The only silver lining there was that Gloopy could have embarrassed MF further, but left Dorgu on the bench where he remained with another 23½ points.)
Just as DBT missed out on matchpoints differential on Final Day, so did Mighty Fine, and there will probably be nasty flashbacks to Richarlison’s missed chances in that GW27 draw with Hung LAB. Also, looking back, those two half-point wins for Housewives Favourite (GW7 & GW9) demonstrate just how tight the Premier League title race was across the season. Tiny margins!
Championship
😲Eye-Catching Stuff:
• The Phenoms win and hold on to Second Place, complete the clean sweep over ATT.
• Barons lose to the new BFFA Cup champions, league position unaffected and will join The Phenoms and Preliminary Version in the Premier League next year.
• Peltier stumble against Gnonto Seed, but retain Seventh as Uncle Monty are matched against this week’s Championship topscorers.
🙅 Whitewash Watch 🔎 Completed:
The Phenoms 5-0 vs. Alleviate the Tedium

🏁 The Finish Line 🏁
The top three remain as they were last week – Barons celebrate their first-ever BFFA title, The Phenoms clear the 2,000 matchpoint mark and Preliminary Version take the remaining place, improving on their three Fourth-place finishes of previous years, to earn a third promotion in four years.
Uncle Monty were somewhat helpless against the league’s top scorers on Sunday. Castellanos, Schade and Semenyo helped All Star Gunners to a 3-1 win on goals scored, with help from late, late signing (17 mins before kickoff) Hermansen (10 FPts), Truffert (8½) and Robinson (8) to put survival a long way out of reach for the two-time league champions. Peltier, the 2025 Best-ish champions avoid relegation thanks to their superior matchpoints total.
League One
😲Eye-Catching Stuff:
• GoFYS win and take the last promotion spot. Back to the Championship at the first time of asking.
• Toastenham Hankdog repair the damage done by the loss last week. They win and retain their place in the third tier.
• Bigger than Brolin round off the season in style, taking the curtain call as champions with the highest score in the league this week, top score for the League season, most wins of all forty teams and closing out on 8-straight victories.

🏁 The Finish Line 🏁
For the third week running there was a 6th/7th/8th-place switcheroo, and Shams Army found themselves standing over the trapdoor when the season ended. Last season’s League Two champions return to from whence they came to attempt to repeat that success. Sporting Thrillhaus avoided that fate thanks to a superior matchpoints tally, despite only playing seven players in their 1½-pt loss to AFC Chester. They left two goalscorers out of the starting eleven, including Mateta who was benched on Wednesday before kickoff but not set as a sub.
Stafford Stallions landed their second-worst score of the season at the worst possible time, allowing GoFYS steal the promotion place that they had held for the last eleven gameweeks. The Stallions (who were supremely unlucky with those two gameweeks where they were the highest-scoring losers, including that 88-78 loss to Jaysokker) found themselves without any firepower, suffering a severe loss of minutes upfront, and a spate of general apathy in the ranks. Truffert and Havertz did what they could, both making 3 Key Paases and an Assist, but a lot of 1’s, 0’s and a -3½ for Ampadu crushed their promtion dreams in just 90 minutes. It’s a cruel game.
12th-year stalwarts GoFYS, relegated from the Championship in last place last season, returned this season to save their reputation and return to the Championship (and the Champions League). They sealed the deal at the death with the 9½-pt win that relegated the Army and saved Thrillhaus. Unfortunately, it may be remembered as a tale of two differing management styles – that of GoFYS who made the miniscule effort of setting their subs, and Shams Army that haven’t bothered since GW30. Thus the tale of two benches went something like this – at 35-35, GoFYS brought on Jaidon Anthony and Nordi Mukiele for +9½, while eight-man Army couldn’t use Munoz (2), Buendia (8½) or Trai Hume (14½). With any two of those, or Hume by himself, and League One would have seen two different teams exiting during the summer.
League Two
😲Eye-Catching Stuff:
• Bigo1 whitewash Team Z, move up to second place and are promoted in their welcome-back season as Runners-Up.
• Beedle’s Boys make it look effortless once again, topscoring in the League for the 13th time and writing their name into the history books as the highest-scoring Best-ish team ever.
• BattleVAR end the season in Fourth, which would have been a Champions league entry last year, stealing it from rival promotion-contenders Wrockwardine Wood Wolves.
🙅 Whitewash Watch 🔎 Completed:
Bigo1 5-0 vs. Team Zizou

🏁 The Finish Line 🏁
It was an exemplary performance from Beedle’s Boys in their inaugural season, showing class, hard work and ingenuity throughout. They finished on an incredible high and, even though they weren’t they winningest team this season, they were the highest-scoring and broke the record for the most points in a season.
High praise should be rained down on anyone that can beat the league champions twice out of their four games. Bigo1 did it in GWs 14 & 23, but FPL Daddy schooled Beedle’s Golden Boys three times – in GW’s 18, 27 and 36. It didn’t stop the Boys from winning the league of course, but it did get them up and above the green line, just out of reach of BattleVAR and the 2,000-pointers Wrockwardine Wood Wolves.

Dynasty
Did you like your squad? Do you wish you could retain your best players for next season?
If you have even one player that you would not want to let go, then Dynasty might be the game for you.
There is talk about expanding to a second sister league, one that runs alongside our already great 10-team keeper league. Your squad would increase from 15 players to 21, you’d keep your players over the summer for the following season, and you can manage both your BFFA team and your Dynasty teams side-by-side on Fantrax.
If you’d like details, please speak to your Commissioner or reach out to The Dirty Sock who’ll be happy to point you in the right direction.
