The Quarter-Finals are underway!

First leg: Housewives Favourite 49½ – 67½ All Star Gunners
Another bogey team has been knocked for six, but not knocked out yet. ASG have their first win over Housewives Favourite thanks to another impressive display by Dewsbury-Hall, his third goal in four games. ASG were unlucky in the league, losing by 1pt to Prelim, but carry a healthy 18-point lead into the QF Second Leg.
Housewives Favourite dropped Granit Xhaka for Jake O’Brien pre-match on waivers; JO’B returned 10 (his season-best), while Xhaka scored zero. ASG kept Xhaka in their squad, but placed him sensibly on the bench. ASG made one claim after the midweek CL-break – adding the new Arsenal defender Hincapié, but he only added one tackle and one interception to the QF. Regardless, Semenyo and Chalobah were rewarded for their goalless face-off at The Vitality (10+8 FPts) and the Championship side made up for disappointment in the league with a big win in the CL.
First leg: De Bruyne Trousers 72½ – 63 Mighty Fine
De Bruyne Trousers are the last remaining unbeaten side in the CL. Played five, won five. They also enjoyed breaking their duck against their opponents, their first win in their four meetings. The only downside for DBT is that as both teams won their league matches, DBT were unable to leapfrog Mighty Fine, who are now fourth.
The difference between the two Premier League rivals is less than ten matchpoints going into the second leg, easily attainable for a side that features Bruno Fernandes and Brian Mbeumo (both of whom scored against Bournemouth last year) and Richarlison (who scored a late consolation against Forest last season).
First leg: Barons 62 – 63 Shams Army
The Champions League continues to generate high-scoring thrillers and this was evidenced once again by Barons producing another 60+ (a fourth in five CL games), despite not scoring a single goal (and only having 3 SoT). Shams Army, the Second Round’s top-scorers, saw three shots hit the back of the net (from 10 SoT), but only won the first leg by a single point. (A point, by the way, that came from Delap’s half-hour appearance for Chelsea, which prevented Ballard coming on with -1.5!)
First leg: Hung Like a Bony 39½ – 66 The Phenoms
It was a mixed bag for the #4 seeds HLAB this weekend with high scores and sub-zeroes. Unfortunately, such assortments rarely succeed in these later stages of this elite competition, as evidenced by The Phenoms’ big (albeit comparatively average this week) score of 66. Bruno Guimaraes (direct from the corner) and Mason Mount (from six yards) did their bit to try and give Hung a Semi, but three yellow cards and own goal from their defenders quietly ruined the mood.
The Phenoms had a eventful weekend, hanging on to their unbeaten streak and First Place league position by the narrowest of margins. They earned that with an impressive turnout – four players hit double-figures, and there were four goals, fifteen Key Passes, eleven Shots-on-Target and eleven Tackles Won. Only enough for a draw in the Championship, but here in the CL, those stats give them a hefty advantage going into the return leg.
The Semi-Finals: Again, the highest-ranked team will play the lowest-ranked remaining side.
SF also two legs, beginning after the new year – GWs 22 & 23
And then the Final takes place in Gameweek 25. One leg – No replay if drawn.
Enjoy.
