Grand Slams – When a team wins nine league matches in-a-row (in a single season) – i.e. they beat every league opponent consecutively – they get their names added to the Roll of Honour.

◦ Two teams completed the set on the final week of the season (SB Town in 2016 and DC LFC in 2017).
◦ The two earliest Grand Slams both came in Season 11 – Alleviate the Tedium in GW11 and Sporting KhilMaan in GW13.
◦ Peltier are the only team to get two Grand Slams in one season (S8).
◦ Eight teams have gone on to make it ten consecutive wins;

The Draft Order has been decided and the Drafts will take place on Sunday 10^th August at:
League Two: 11am ET / 4pm UK
League One: 12noon ET / 5pm UK
Championship: 1pm ET / 6pm UK
Premier League: 2pm ET / 7pm UK

The Premier League season kicks off on Friday 15^th August with Champions Liverpool hosting AFC Bournemouth.

This season the Champions League has been re-shaped to mirror the real thing.

All sixteen teams have been sorted into four pots:
The 4x League Champions make up Pot 1,
The 4x Runners-Up are in Pot 2,
The 4x Third-placed teams go into Pot 3,
And the remaining four qualifying teams in Pot 4.

From Gameweek 8, each team will play one other team from each pot. All sixteen will be competing in one League. After that, the top four will move on to Round 3; the bottom four are eliminated.

Round 2 will be two-legged fixtures –
5^th v 12^th, 6^th v 11^th, 7^th v 10^th, 8^th v 9^th.

The winners of those games meet the top four in the Quarter-Finals (lowest-ranked v highest-ranked).

The Quarters and the Semi-Finals are also two-legged, then the Final will be played on Gameweek 25.

Following the conclusion of the Champions League, the BFFA Cup will begin in GW27 with all 38 teams competing.

After Gameweek 26, the top 26 teams in the Best-ish table (charting everybodys matchpoints total) will get a bye to the Second Round.

The First Round Draw will take place during the FA Cup Weekend (~14^th Feb).

With no playoffs this season, the leagues will once again finish after Gameweek 38.

The Draft

As a reminder – the Drafts will take place on Sunday 10^th August at:
League Two: 11am ET / 4pm UK
League One: 12noon ET / 5pm UK
Championship: 1pm ET / 6pm UK
Premier League: 2pm ET / 7pm UK

The timings have been staggered to allow for interventions if anything goes wrong during a Draft, and also to give other teams a chance to see who is being drafted in other leagues.

It will hopefully prove useful for teams in the lower leagues to identify deep sleepers that they can pick up on waivers in GW1, and also for everybody to compare where players were taken in other leagues.

As always, they will be typical snake drafts
(Round 1: Team 1 to Team 10, then Round 2: Team 10 to Team 1).

The timer is set at 90 seconds.

15 players per team, no restrictions on number per position nor PL clubs. If you want three goalkeepers, you go get yourself three goalkeepers my friend!

Unselected players will go on waivers.

Scoring Format

We have built this format as a compromise between the Official FPL game and our BFFA Dynasty League.

In this system, all players will still get a point for an appearance and a second for giving us an hour on the pitch. We’ve made a slight tweak here in that 59 minutes is now enough to get that second appearance point. No more frustrations when your winger is replaced on 59:50, while another player steps off the pitch 20 seconds later in the same stoppage and gets another point. Just don’t be annoyed if Slot makes that same change in the 59th minute!

All players get the same negative points for yellow cards (-2) and own goals (-3). The rest we’ve adjusted after comparing the numbers from last season for positional attributes.

We have also added more to the oFPL base format. We added Interceptions and Tackles (and then they copied us!) But unlike oFPL, you don’t have to collect 10 CBITs to earn matchpoints. Our players will be scored for every Int & every Tackle. We’ve also added Shots-on-Target and Key Passes, as per the Dynasty League. SoT’s are self-explanatory. Key Passes are effectively Assists for SoT’s. They are worth 0.5 matchpoints each (or 2 for a GKP).

Goalkeepers
The first thing you might notice is that we have greatly increased the reward for a goalkeeper scoring. As this happens on average once every 5 years, we feel like they should be getting more reward for the historic feat. But also, not so much that it makes it impossible to match.

We have increased the return for assists and penalty saves, but also a hard -8 for a goalkeeper red card as it affects the match so heavily.

Saves are rewarded for every save (no need to collect them in threes anymore) and goals against are -2 each time after the first (as always, the first goal against scores zero because the clean sheet points are lost).

Defenders
Defenders, like goalkeepers, score five for a clean sheet and have slightly increased returns for attacking plays. There are some tables below which highlight who were the defenders scoring these points last season.

Midfielders
Similar to the official FPL game, MIDs score 3 for an assist, 1 for a clean sheet and the same as the others for cards, own goals and penalties missed. The advantage this season is that defensive midfielders will find themselves scoring more for Tackles and Interceptions. Once again, there is a list of the midfielders that did well in these disciplines further down.

Forwards
In a change to most other formats (something that I hope will be seen as an improvement), FWD’s will score on clean sheets, and also have half-points deducted goals conceded (2 or more) because let’s face it – they’re on the pitch too. Strikers can defend corners, they track back and they are also affected by conceding in real life. Effective parking of the bus can be very beneficial.

But they also have the added benefit of points for key passes, shots-on-target, tackles and interceptions (a full one point for an interception given that there were less than half as many compared to other positions, see below).

One more thing that I should point out is that KP’s and SoT’s can stack on goals & assists. So if your striker scores with a shot-on-target for example (as most do), he should score 1 + 5 for the strike.
