Season 12 – GW22

Probably the narrowest pool of scores (mostly 40’s & 50’s) has led to a lot of close and close-ish results.

Premier League

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
• Big win for Mighty Fine over second-placed Wives Fave. Thanks to four wins in five, they are now level on points. Meanwhile, Hung LAB pull away with a fourth-consecutive win over DBT.
• A Nearly-Team-of-the-Week honourable mention to ATC, just a half-point shy of the Stallions effort in the third tier.
• Beyer Neverleusen break Gloopy’s 3-game win streak over them, winning by just a ½pt.
• ATC finally have two consecutive wins to rub together. A challenge for survival has begun.

⚽ Featured Game – Result: Housewives Favourite 55½ – 61½ Mighty Fine, 2nd v 4th
Mighty Fine climb into the money places and outscore the two teams above them.

🙅 Whitewash Watch 🔎 After GW22:
Hung Like a Bony 3-0 vs. De Bruyne Trousers; Hung have won last 4.

🫣 Next week’s One to Watch:
Hung Like a Bony -v- Smash & Grab, 1st v 9th
GW14: Hung 53 – 48 Smash
Two very capable sides, high-scoring, closely matched, even though the league table doesn’t agree. Smash are the fourth-best scoring team in the league, but results did not go their way in 2025. Having won their last three, a return to midtable looks likely.

🙅 Whitewash Watch 🔎 Before GW23:
Hung Like A Bony 2-0 vs. Smash & Grab; Smash beat Hung in the CL Group Stage in GW11

Championship

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
• SWP climb two places with a one-point win over SF. Micky van de Ven’s yellow card gifted SWP the three points and prevented SF from climbing to third.
• Uncle Monty catch up with Peltier with a low-scoring win.
• ATT end the rot with a big score against struggling Seed.

⚽ Featured Game – Result: All Star Gunners 39 – 48½ Barons, 3rd v 2nd
Barons win the Championship game o’ the week, ending ASG’s 5W streak, and open up the gap below them to six league points (plus 100 matchpoints).

🙅 Whitewash Watch 🔎 After GW22:
0/5. No whitewashes in this round of fixtures.

🫣 Next week’s One to Watch:
Alleviate the Tedium -v- Barons, 9th v 2nd
GW14: ATT 68 – 57 Barons
On recent form, this promises to be a high-scoring affair. ATT – who scored 62 this week and 68 last time they met – have to try it against the league’s top pointscorers, also a team who are a point away from regaining first place.

🙅 Whitewash Watch 🔎 Before GW23:
Preliminary Version 2-0 vs. Sporting Wicker Park; SWP won this fixture in the S10 BFFA Cup QF

Form:

League One

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
• Stafford Stallions reign in the league leaders with the association’s score of the week.
• Sporting Thrillhaus prevent BtB from eating into WdB’s nine-point lead. Thrillhaus (2W) are re-attempting a escape attempt, now six points closer to seventh.
• AFC Chester default to a win and it gives them a two-place lift.

Featured Game – Result: Whiskey De Bruyne 51 – 66 Stafford Stallions, 1st v 4th
The Stallions finally get a win over WdB, and rock the league by halting the runaway leader (albeit for this week). A goal for Wirtz and two 9-pointers from the Everton defence help the Stallions promotion chase.

🙅 Whitewash Watch 🔎 After GW22:
0/5. No whitewashes in this round of fixtures.

🫣 Next week’s One to Watch:
Whiskey De Bruyne -v- GoFys, 1st v 3rd
GW14: WDB 67 – 56 GoFys
After losing to fourth place, the highest-scoring team in the whole association is facing a very in-form third-placed GoFYS who have a point to prove.

🙅 Whitewash Watch 🔎 Before GW23:
Stafford Stallions 2-0 vs. AFC Chester; First season in same league

Form:

League Two

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
• Big scores from either end of the league – 2nd placed WWW and 8th-placed AIJP both hitting 60 and beating above-average scores from their opponents. WWW on the verge of reaching the top spot for the first time, and AIJP just a win from moving up to seventh.
• FPL Daddy and BattleVAR are joined by Bigo1 in a three-way battle for third place. Bigo1 face Beedle’s boys next; the other two face the bottom two.
• In GW4, Goleta scored 100FPts v. Team Zizou, in GW13 they only scored 23, in GW22 they could only manage 27. Nevertheless, it remains the season’s top score. Zizou take sixth place away from Goleta.

⚽ Featured Game – Result: Beedle’s Boys 52 – 61 Wrockwardine Wood Wolves, 1st v 2nd
As in other leagues, it’s the lower team that won the featured game and the result makes the league way more interesting. In a goalless weekend for the Boys, Verbruggen’s 3 FPts was outdone by Pickford’s 12 for the Wolves.

🙅 Whitewash Watch 🔎 After GW22:
0/5. No whitewashes in this round of fixtures.

🫣 Next week’s One to Watch:
Beedle’s Boys -v- Bigo1, 1st v 5th
GW14: Boys 48 – 50½ Bigo
Opportunities for both teams (and their league rivals) here. If Boys win, they retain 1st place, if Bigo wins, they could move up as far as third.

🙅 Whitewash Watch 🔎 Before GW23:
BattleVAR Galactico 2-0 vs. Borussia Teeth; W8-D1-L8 all-time
FPL Daddy 2-0 vs. Scott FC; First season in same league
