Team of the Week:
Goleta Hotspur (1st TotW)
64 points

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
➤ There is a tied game in the CLQ’s! AFC Chester & HLAB both unable to claim a lead after huge scores this weekend. Saliba (Chester) will miss the second leg through injury, Brantwaite (HLAB) a concern for the final game away at Newcastle. Both played Morgan Rogers (6FPts); will they both start him again?
➤ The CL Reserve list incredibly tight with Prelim looking like qualifying through their CLQ and Smash far above the rest. Any one of nine could take the last Champions League place next season.
➤ Shams Army of League Two will play Gloopy Yarbles of the Premier League for the Champion of Champions title.
➤ Whiskey De Bruyne and Harambe Hotspur face off in the Sacko Final.
➤ The three playoffs have all started with massive margins in the first leg. Only one of the third-placed hopefuls are playing catch-up next week; Eberechi Eze giving The Phenoms just a glimmer of hope.
➤ Uncle Monty and Partey Time qualify for the next round of the IML from eighth place in their leagues.
➤ Goleta Hotspur record the highest score of the week with double figures from Rice, Strand Larsen and Ndiaye.

🫣 Next Week’s Ones to Watch:
CLQ: AFC Chester (56 – 56) HLAB
This Season: BFFA Cup First Round – GW20: 36 – 24
Last season: GW7: 18 – 87 // GW16: 37 – 33 // GW25: 55 – 81 // GW34: 67 – 110
All Time: AFC Chester: 5 wins; Drawn: 1; HLAB: 7 wins

Ps-Week 1 in a nutshell:

After the First Leg:
Gnonto Seed 13 – 34 IB Lausig
For a place in the Premier League

Uncle Monty 52 – 23 The Phenoms
For a place in the Championship

Borussia Teeth 25 – 49 Boudi’s Crew
For a place in League One

After the First Leg:
Preliminary Version 53 – 38 Jaysokker
AFC Chester 56 -v- 56 HLAB

There are two more roads into next season’s Champions League – 2 places via the Qualifiers (above) and 2 places via the Reserve List (right).

Preliminary Version have a controlling 15-point lead after the first leg. In the (short) history of BFFA playoffs, no teams have overcome such a big lead, but games have been won by bigger margins. And in the other CLQ we have a dramatic tied game between Chester and HLAB!

In the Reserve List, it would take a disaster for Preliminary Version to fall out of the top two, so they are practically guaranteed a Champions League place either way. Similarly, Smash & Grab look like a shoe-in for the other place.

The real excitement surrounds that last Reserve space. If Prelim hold their CLQ lead on Sunday, then there will be one more Champions League place open and nine teams which could realistically take it: AFC Chester (if they lose to HLAB), BVAR, ASG and R57 are all within just two points of each other! Also SkyPlayer, BtB, Slots Fired, HLAB (if they lose to Chester) and Barons (1518 FPts) could also steal it in the last 90 minutes of the season, so they will all be rooting for Prelim to beat Jaysokker!

Rot-Weiss Barefoot -v- Waikauri Bay FC
Tino’s Legacy -v- Vanishing Spray
TrevAI -v- Peltier

The Big One

It’s the BFFA Big One. The tried and tested (albeit inferior) traditional form of English Fantasy Football
that requires each manager to build a team with a budget of £150 million.
These teams must have no more than three players from the same PL club, excessive transfers are penalised by point deductions, and everyone gets a Haaland (if they want one).
Every team also gets to pick a Captain and there are bonus chips to play across the season.
This is a classic-style fantasy league, open to all BFFA managers past and present.

Last season The Big One was won by Prestige Worldwide, a subsidiary of The Premier League’s El Dude Bros, and The One Cup was won by Alleviate the Tedium.
This season’s One Cup is also underway. Results below.
