So after a scoring recalc levelled things between eight-man Hankdog took volunteer team Neverleusen, we got things settled this weekend. There was only one goal in the game, Iwobi for Neverleusen, but the Premier League outfit still managed to double the score of the team that they had drawn with last week. Assists from Ait-Nouri, Gross and Bowen and four shots on target gave BN an easy ride into the next round to face high-scoring rookies WWW.

Inter-league stats
For the first time in five years, there have been more lower-league winners than higher-league dominance in the First Round games. There were three matches that featured League One teams against League Two opponents, and they were all won by the lower-league sides (Borussia Teeth, Bigo1 and Team Zizou). Since the fourth tier was created in 2016-17, there have been 15 such First Round matches, and 12 of them have been won by League Two.
BattleVAR Galactico also KO’d Premier League opposition. In eight matchups, only one Premier League side has ever knocked out a League Two club in the First Round (FC Santa Barbara in 2022). Thus, against the first and third tiers, League Two owns the opening round. However, when they’re paired up against a Championship team, the results go heavily in the higher league teams’ favour – L2 have only beaten the Championship twice in 14 attempts – Borussia Teeth (as Gadagnome) in 2018 and Gnonto Seed (as Wijnaldum Leviosa) in 2020.
In the two R1 games this year that didn’t involve a League Two team: Sporting Thrillhaus (L1) KO’d a Championship side (Gnonto Seed), and a Prem vs. L1 game is resulted above – the Premier League’s Beyer Neverleusen saw off League One’s Toastenham in this replay.
