The 2025 BFFA Cup Final

Starting Line-Ups

The Match

Friday:
The BFFA Cup Final kicked off early (Friday) with a single match – Man City hosting Wolves. City had won the reverse fixture 2-1 in October, coming back from Strand Larsen’s opener with goals from Gvardiol and Stones. This time, there was only the one goal and it wasn’t scored by Larsen (ATC, Did Not Play), nor Gvardiol (MF), but the City defender did earn himself a clean sheet and two bonus points. Foden (ATC) and Semedo (ATC) who had both assisted in the game at Molyneux blanked at the Etihad, and Bernardo Silva (MF) quietly saw the game through for just 3 FPts.
Atletico Topo Chico 3 – 11 Mighty Fine

Saturday:
The weekend proper started with Villa beating Fulham 1-0. Only Martinez (ATC) featured but despite keeping the ball out and being awarded 2BP, he would remain on ATC’s bench while Flekken appeared for Brentford (Sunday).

One player who did come off the bench though (in both respects) was Paul Onuachu (ATC), however, as was the theme for Atletico in this Final, he did nothing to help the cause. Aaron Ramsdale (MF) did play from start to finish and, as in October, kept a clean sheet for half a game, but not for the full 90.

Doucoure (ATC) wasn’t in the squad for Everton at 3pm and so the Final had a small break until the evening game between Arsenal and Bournemouth. The last time the two had met, Saliba was sent off (30′) and Kluivert scored a penalty & made an assist. This rematch (as with the City game) was a lot quieter. Saliba (MF) wasn’t sent off and Kluivert (MF) didn’t score. Kerkez (ATC) also played, but similarly did not a lot else.
Half-Time: Atletico Topo Chico 5 – 13 Mighty Fine

Sunday:
Still tight and with most of the players still to play, Topo Chico came out looking for a comeback. However, the 2pm kickoffs brought goals for Mighty Fine. First Bowen netted against London rivals Spurs, and then towards the end of regular time Newcastle were (finally) awarded a penalty and Isak buried it.

The late games didn’t do anything to improve Leti’s chances. Only Virgil van Dijk attempted to make a game of it, scoring Liverpool’s only goal of the weekend, but didn’t curate any bonus points; in fact, he was only the fifth-best player on the Liverpool side that day.
Mighty Fine double their lead from eight to sixteen, with only one player on each side to come.
Atletico Topo Chico 18 – 34 Mighty Fine

Monday:
The 2025 Cup Final petered out on the final day. Forest and Palace played out a 1-1 draw, much like AFC and mighty Fine – each only scoring a single point each. Both Gibbs-White (ATC) and Muñoz (MF) played the full match, but added nothing to the Final (apart from both picking up a yellow card). There ended the Final with only substitutes to come on and confirm the result.
Atletico Topo Chico 19 – 35 Mighty Fine

Subs:
ATC: Kilman (2), Cucurella (2), Onuachu (1)
Off: Doucoure, Strand Larsen, Solanke
MF: Kluivert (2), Wilson (1)
