The 2025 BFFA Cup Final
Atletico Topo Chico #21 -V- mighty Fine #14
The line-ups are in and the 2025 Cup Final has kicked off!
Atletico Topo Chico got past the Third Round for the first time last season, but were knocked out in the Quarter Finals by HLAB. This season they were forced to enter the tournament in the First Round because of a technicality – they were joint 24th in the Best-ish standings with fellow Championshipers Whiskey De Bruyne at the cutoff, and unfortunately they scored less that gameweek. But they cleared the First Round with the third-best score and, as you know, made it all the way to the Final, knocking out a team from each of the four divisions along the way. Powerful stuff!
This weekend they line up with an attacking 3-5-2.
Boudi’s Crew were a little unlucky not to be going to the Final, after being knocked out by the only side that scored better in the Semi-Finals, but it does mean that we have a returning Cup winner at the big game again. Mighty Fine Feeling won the Cup two years ago in a 43-23 triumph over All Star Gunners. The following year we watched them crash out in the First Round, 55-24 to rookies Shams Army (now Champions of League Two), but this season they’re back to their best and have seen off all-comers to get to the Final. They have KO’d teams from three divisions, ATC will be their first and only Championship opponent in this tournament.
Mighty Fine begin this Cup Final with an ultra-defensive 5-4-1.
Both teams feature players that have scored during BFFA Cup Final weekend before. Harvey Barnes has scored four, all for Leicester, in 2019, 2020 and a brace during MFF’s BFFA Cup Final win in 2023. That same weekend, Doucoure (with ATC this season) also scored a brace during Everton’s 5-1 win over Brighton.
Mighty Fine also have other goalscorers from previous BFFA Cup Final weekends – Robertson (2), Gvardiol (1), Bowen (1), Isak (2), Kluivert (1) and Wilson (3). Isak and Bowen’s goals featured in the BFFA Cup Final itself, both helping StillluvQPR to victory last year. On the ATC side, as well as the Doucoure brace, Gibbs-White scored this time last year, as did Phil Foden (2019).
The weekend ahead looks something like this:
